THE BLACKSMITHS KNIFE

This Knife is commonly called a blacksmith or viking knife although it has many other names and theories around its origin. We teach this project because of its nice elegant design and often physically challenging but basic processes. Made from one piece of steel then hardened and tempered, resulting in a simple but functional knife.

BLACKSMITHS KNIFE MAKING

In this course, you'll learn the fundamental basics of blacksmithing in a supportive and engaging environment. You’ll begin with a quick hands-on exercise designed to introduce you to key techniques, followed by an intriguing overview of metallurgy and the fascinating history behind hot forging. Throughout the day, you’ll have full control of the fire and work directly at the anvil, allowing you to gain practical experience before starting to forge your very own blade.

The course starts at 10am, includes a 1-hour lunch break, and ends before 4pm. There is no rush and you can take your time enjoying the Pitt street food market. You keep all your work and learn how to finish and care for your projects. Classes are small, with up to three people per session.
