EXPERIENCE BLACKSMITHING
We encourage smithing to people from all walks of life and offer courses for any occasion with no prior experience necessary. Specialising in the process of hot forging, you can expect to be standing at the anvil with a hammer and tongs in front of a forge. Explore your own project and practice your skills through the open access sessions or embrace the smithy guided by expert led courses. Located amongst a vibrant cluster of independent businesses and delicious food at ThePitt on the Granton waterfront.

We are a community interest company producing some of the most progressive forgework projects in the UK. The forge in Granton is a state-of-the art facility designed to enable basic - advanced levels of contemporary blacksmithing as well as a space to find inspiration from the library, masterclasses, forge-ins and much more.
PORTABLE WORKSHOP
We can bring the forge to you. Have a go at blacksmithing, take something you’ve forged home with you or simply witness expert hot forging in action. With a fully equipped professional forge, we offer taster sessions, workshops and demonstrations for events, festivals, community gatherings and educational settings. A course gift voucher can be used to purchase a place on any one of our courses (subject to availability). The voucher is gift-wrapped and sent first-class by Royal Mail, UK delivery only.
When you are ready to book your course, simply redeem through our website using the code provided on the voucher.
Terms & Conditions
Vouchers are valid for a period of 12months from the date of purchase. Cannot be redeemed after expiry date. The course must be booked before the expiry date, though they may take place at a much later date. Only one gift voucher can be used per course booking. Vouchers are non-refundable other than within 14-day cancellation period as per the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. In the unlikely event that a course needs to be cancelled by Work of Iron CIC, a new gift voucher shall be issued and shall be valid for a further 12 months. In the event that a course is cancelled by a voucher holder no refund shall be given.
